This lampholder is great if you are converting a fitting for use in the USA, it is UL rated. It has a 10mm mounting thread and a smooth outer skirt.

A shade can not be fitted to the skirt of the lampholder. Before starting any electrical work, always switch off at the mains. If in doubt consult a competent electrician
