- a) You’ve purchased an ES lampholder that arrived fully assembled and you can’t open it, or

Why won’t it open?
Most ES lampholders include a built‑in safety lock. This lock prevents the lampholder from coming apart when a bulb is unscrewed — an essential safety feature, but one that can be confusing if you’re not expecting it.
