Often used as a metal "candle drip" on more contemporary fittings.  These slim metal covers provide an attractive disguise for the utility SES plastic lampholders.  You will notice them used extensively on Sputnik fittings and Glass and Chrome Chandeliers.  Sometimes we've even been asked to use them on very specific Pendant situations where a small bulb is required.
