Bit of a lost art now, but grandads of yesteryear spent years of their lives surface-tacking cables around their lofts, cupboards, outside sheds and garages. Measure the diameter of your cable and then select the best fit. Some electricians working on period properties even spray them up and use them to tack the coloured cables along rafters in National Trust properties. The humble cable clip is making a come back.
